Sedan vehicles are rare to see with different European Countries's number plates. But It's possible to see much more sedans at Turkey, TR. Because Turkey is enormous about Sedan vehicles.

It's funny how different countries can have so different car type preferences. This reminds me of the situation in the late 60s and seventies. In Japan coupés were THE car type people wanted, but in Europe (where the Japanese car makers were trying to break through) everybody wanted sedans. Cars like Mazda 616/Capella, Datsun Cherry, Toyota Corolla (Levin/Sprinter/Trueno), Mazda 1300, Toyota Carina etc. were all examples of cars in "parallel universes"

Diecast model collectors experience it extra strongly, because almost all the scale models of japanese cars of this era depict the japanese versions, which are very far from the models we knew in Europe.

I think it began to change with the first VW Golf and two other VWs of the same period (Passat and Polo (originally sold as Audi 50)), Europe fell in love with the hatchback. Not that this body type didn't exist before that (Simca 1100, Renault 6 and 16, Peugeot 104 etc.) but the popularity of the Golf really got the ball rolling and today many sedan versions of popular cars are not even offered in Europe anymore. The prime market for sedans now seems to be China.

Just look at my Russian gallery for example. I try to take pictures of interesting cars or beautiful car plates
