US plate attached to the rear. Many European car owners in America like to display a European front plate, just as display.

Bringing a car from Europe to the US costs a little more than a plane ticket. I think there are many people who like to travel in their own car, not a rented one.

This is true, but not a common scene. There is a Facebook group dedicated to foreign-market vehicles (and plates) in the USA, but it is not that frequent. I think there are more American plates in Bar MNE, than there are any foreign plates in the US
I personally, have only seen a handful of real foreign-registered cars in the US, in years of searching.
