License plate without vehicle
This plate was issued in occupied Germany shortly after the second World War.
AH = Hesse occupied by the USA (used between 1948 and 1956)
33 = District of Melsungen
The backside was used as a makeshift plate when the new numbering system was introduced in 1956. After 58 years the lettering is damaged but still somewhat readable.

Actually the DIN-Font was introduced immediately. I think that this plate was never an official one. It looks more like it was homemade and it never was officially sealed. Maybe it was just a temporary solution while the new numbering system was introduced.
I'm not even sure that the plate was used on the same vehicle as before because a completely new set of hols was drilled into it when it was reused.
Nevertheless it is a really interesting piece. That's why I decided to upload a picture.
