Don't see what's wrong with photographing cars on a motorway, though I'd pick a spot where the drivers can't notice me that easily. I'd love to do motorway/road spotting but there's nowhere suitable in my region.

Yeah, but it's actually illegal in Netherlands, they should have fined me 35 euros, but they didn't, You are not even allowed to sit on the grass near the highway, not talking about the metal fence, on which i was sitting yesterday.

Well, the part about sitting next to the motorway sounds fair enough, but are you actually not even allowed to photograph the cars on it?

You are not allowed to be near the highway, irrelevant to your hobby. Only in emergency cases you are ok to be there.
There is no problem with photographing cars, since i was sitting near the road in the city, and a lot of police cars passed near me, and nobody asked me to stop photographing.
Shame about that rule, especially with truck-spotters using the highways to photograph interesting trucks. Are you allowed to photograph traffic from a flyover/bridge going over the highway in Germany/Netherlands/Europe?
