Right after I took this photo, someone saw me and I thought he wanted to tell me "Why did you take a photo of my car?" so I ran away from the place. Thank God he didn't do that.

Yeah, I know your feeling mate. Once I saw a Peugeot 306 with plates from Viersen (VIE), Germany. When I was trying to spot that car, the owner approached me and asked me about spotting his car. The strange thing is that the owner had Spanish nationality (born in Spain). When he asked me that, I was a little bit nervous because I didn't know what to answer, and eventually, the owner left. But a few days later I've finally managed to spot it.
PS: The registration plate of that Peugeot was VIE YT 486.

Al parecer es algo común entre los que fotografiamos coches en la calle... Allá por 2014 me tocó a mí con un Porsche Cayman que circulaba a cierta distancia. Al parecer, el tipo (kinki de barriada) me detectó rápido y dio media vuelta para parar junto a mí, insultarme y preguntarme que si era policía y que por qué le sacaba fotos. Por mucho que intentara explicarle, ni me dejaba hablar y tuve que prometerle borrar las fotos, cosa que al final no hice. Algún día las subiré. El miedo por mí y mi cámara no me lo quitó nadie...

En otro par de ocasiones, los dueños me han visto fotografiar sus coches aparcados. Afortunadamente, escuchaban mejor, por lo que, al explicarles qué hacía o cuánto me gustaban sus vehículos por lo exóticos que eran, se relajaban y me dejaban hacer

Ya, una pena que te haya ocurrido eso a ti también. Ojalá la gente dejara de preocuparse tanto por el hecho de que alguien ha fotografiado su coche.

I agree with this. If I ever get caught, (I haven't yet, but I hope I never do!) I would only sincerely tell the owner how much I admire and like their car. When I was taking a picture of PQB 384, I was in a busy parking lot, so I got the pic while walking, so I wouldn't get caught. Only reason I was able to get many views of the GR Supra I saw was because it was way at the edge of the parking lot.

Por un lado no existe ninguna ley que te prohiba hacer fotos a los coches / la matrículas en lugares públicos (calles, aparcamientos).
Por otro lado tampoco existe ninguna ley que te prohiba distribuir tus fotos de los coches / las matrículas en internet.
Cualquier policía te dirá lo mismo que te digo yo.
Así que fotografiar coches en la calle es legal, ya se en España, en Portugal o en Rusia.
Por otro lado existe la parte moral, pero a mi modo de ver los límites de la moralidad los pone cada uno a su manera, siempre y cuando la acción sea legal. En otras palabras - si a alguien le parece mal que hagas foto de su coche es su problema.
Por último existe la psicosis general de que una matrícula esté publicada en internet y las consecuencias que esto conllevaría en un caso concreto, pero nosotros no podemos controlar esto ni mucho menos ser responsables de los actos de las personas que tengan malas intenciones.
Hacer fotos a los coches, camiones, autobuses, aviones, etc.. es un hobby internacional y debería ser respetado de igual forma que cualquier otro hobby similar. Nunca tengáis miedo de un dueño cabreado, ni tampoco tenéis el deber de explicar nada. Y mucho menos hay que tener miedo a la frase "Llamaré a la policía". Llamad vosotros primero y explicad que os privan de vuestra libertad y derechos. Siempre que sea un lugar público la policía os debería dar razón.

Al igual que nosotros hacemos fotos a los coches, se de buena tinta que hay fanáticos de los camiones y autobuses.
Yo que soy conductor de autobús, sabéis la de veces que me he visto en algún foro de autobuses sin yo saberlo? Hasta mi jefe me lo dijo en una ocasión, que me fotografiaron en tal sitio. Pero me molesta? Pues no.
