Interesting, because OT plates were introduced 10 years ago in Hungary, and more than 45000 plates were issued since then, more than twice as in Spain. Maybe because the minimum age is 30 years in Hungary, and more in Spain?

By information from our table of series, only 23000 oldtimer (H) plates were issued in Spain. BBB and BBC series completed, BBD series is being issued at 2***.

#6 In Spain a car must have 25 years or more to obtain these special plates. As you told, since these plates were introduced almost 13 years ago, only 22500 (approx.) plate where issued. It's a little bit tricky to get these plates, because of many documents and small payments you need to do. I guess many owners don't care about these plates and just keep the original or make just the normal plates

To register oldtimer in Germany with H-plates, you should keep original construction and design. However, exhaust gas neutralizers are allowed for use.

This type of plates are normally only used for imported classic cars, take them for a car with spanish normal LP is too expensive and it doesn't offer to many for a car, It's interesting for cars with more than 50 years because you have to do the anual revision one time in five years

So that's the answer, because in Hungary OT plates are more advantageous: less tax, cheaper insurance, no safety and emission requirements...

you are correct, here if your car had more than 25 years, you don't have to pay the annual tax (this thing only happened in the towns which had approved that), and you can have a classic insurance if you have car with more than 20 years; you don¡t need a historic plate for having those things
