Strange that the database indicates such an early date of registration. It should be around autumn 2009, not 1994, right?

It's probably date of first registration of this Volkswagen. The vehicle might have changed the owners since the first registration and by that it changed plates. So nothing strange about that, i think

The last new vehicles that have been registrated in the FNI system were issued the 15th of april 2009, after this date, the new vehicles received a new SIV plate AA-***-xx, the FNI plates attributed after this date and until the 15th of october concerned only used french vehicle
(exported ones received a SIV plate since the 15th of april)
In short, no car produced in autumn 2009 received a FNI number, all autumn 2009 registration were for vehicles licensed before the 15th of april, in majority old vehicles that already had a FNI number. But it was anyway usual in the FNI system that a used vehicle should change its plates (in case of a new owner for exemple)
