    Great spot!

The areas near Yazd and Shiraz were the only places were you could see foreign plates in substantial amounts (around 1-2 per day at most). In the South and southwest I went for almost a week without seeing any foreign plates.

Which neighbouring countries do you usually spot there? Turkish, Turkmen, Azeri plates maybe?

Of the neighbouring countries, I only saw Armenia, Turkey and Iraq.
Apart from that a few Germans, a few French plates, one Italian, one Dutch, one Australian (!) and a UAE plate. But I was travelling with a group from Uni, so I didn't have the time to really look around.
