Nice shot. But despite the side-markers and the small license plate place on the front bumper, the VIN is not North-American. It should not have ZZZ if it was a North-American car. Moreover, I do not understand why immatriculation-auto.info indicates 01/01/1986 whereas it is indeed 01/01/1987 which is recorded on the file

Weird... It even had the warning writtings on the its right mirror. Maybe a non-exported USDM model that remained in Germany and ended up in the Grand Est Region?

Additionally, I saw it getting in the carpark with its sidemarkers on. Given how red rear sidemarkers are illegal in F, I would assume it is a true classic US-Spec model (?)
