I read an article about this behaviour recently. The seller advertised (in the December of 2014) this 2013 VW Jetta with about 45.000 km in the clock, only few scars, original condition:

Even the experts at a VW service said that the car is good to buy.

The same car in the July of 2014. Totaled!

I mean a car on main photo, not other one, mentioned in comments.
FNI plates are replaced by SIV ones if registration information (and carte grise) changes in the next cases: sale, owner resettling, familiar status changing.

Hmm... I think that Poland is not a final destination for this wrecked car, but probably, Marijampolė.
In further, this car will appear somewhere in the CIS, with back-scrolled odometer...
