License plate of Greece, Cars

Stavern, Norway

Greek plates are NOT common to see in Norway, so finding this was a real shock to me. In fact I thought this was the first Greek car on Platesmania spotted in Norway ever, but Aixam came before me, having spotted one in Tromsø. And that's even more impressive! Check Google Map... ;)

That is awesome to see! :)
I still have that dumb stereotypic mindset that greeks are in economic crisis, but I guess that's not the case anymore i hope :D . And also weird too see greek people travelling to Norway, and not the opposite :D

I did a quick check now, searching for Norwegian cars in Greece, and opposite. At the moment there is 6 pictures from each country !;) (5 Norwegian cars in Greece, 3 Hellenic cars in Norway)

Sadly it is still the case, but we are slowly doing better than before. :)

Indeed, in my experience Norwegian cars are extremely rare in Greece, even during the summer months! I think I've seen more Russian or Swedish cars in Greece than Norwegian cars!

Greece is our go to vacation destination since 2014, been there 6 times I believe. 1 time in Corfu, 4 times at the same hotel in Rhodos, and once on a cheaper hotel next by.
:) beutiful place, with beautiful people. We hope that staying there helps you a bit since I've read Greece is one of the few countries where tourism is their biggest profit :)

Wow that's a lot of times! =) Thank you for choosing Greece so many times for holidays, I hope you enjoyed your time there! Greece does indeed rely on tourism a lot for our economy, which is why the pandemic hit our economy particularly badly (just as we were trying to recover from the financial crisis) as we couldn't get as many tourists in 2020 and 2021 as we would like. Fortunately this year promises to be much better. :)

Greece is really an adorable and hospitable country. And so are Greek people. Since 2009, I`ve been there on vacation almost every year, sometimes two times a year. I visited Corfu, Kephalonia, Rhodes, Crete, Santorini, Evia, Peloponnes, Halkidiki, Saloniki, Athens. Took some photos of Greek cars, of course)

I've been to Greece only once; at me and my wife's honeymoon (by cruise ship in Mediterranean Sea) back in 2011. The photos of cars from that trip you can see her in Platesmania !;) I remember Greece as a very beautiful country, although we didn't see much more than Athens on our travel. But I will never forget the incredible feeling of standing on the mountain close to Acropolis and feeling the very hot wind against my face  It was like standing inside a hair dryer, I guess :) The people was very kind and nice, and I honour our taxi driver who showed us around in the district !;)

Sure, in summer it can be extremely hot in Greece because it's not too far from Africa (Egypt)..?
