Meanwhile, according to the Hungarian vehicle database, the plate belongs to an IFA, which is withdrawn from traffic sine 1993.

I think, and hungarian guys can confirm it better, that SP plates were introduced a few years ago, only 5-6, so in 1993 this plate couldn't exist

No-no, it must be a pre-1990 two-letter four-digit plate, remained in the database... So, it could be correct... Plates of some trucks begun with S in the old era...

Also, a colleague told recently that SP plates officially count as "temporary", possibly this is why they're not in the system.
