Why are there so many old Sherpa vans in Eastern Europe? Was it a big export market for the Sherpa in its day? Its strange, as a Brit, to see so many out there.

I can't say about Eastern Europe, but in Kazakhstan (according to databases) this exemplar was registered in 1998. It belonged to the public foundation "Mercy Corps". Then it was sold to a private person who owned it for more than 20 years. I did some digging in the database. There were three more Sherpa (at the time of 2009): 1) registration in 1997, owned by a private person; 2) registration in 1998, owned by a transport company; 3) registration in 1997, belonged to the evangelical center "Agape", and later to the public foundation "Care". Then sold to a private person.

Oh, sorry, forgot Kazakhstan was Central Asia. There seems to be an absurdly large (by site standards) population of them in Russia, too. Thanks for the info!
