You've got it right. I was watching for the ferry arrival, hoping to see some Åland plates (got 8 of them the day before at Katajanokka terminal), but I certainly wasn't expecting this country. I'm very happy about it.
I visited Helsinki three days after visiting Tartu and Tallinn in Estonia. It's a nice city, and I've wanted to go to Finland for a long time. I'm already looking forward to coming back to visit the rest of the country! Thanks.

Glad to hear you liked Helsinki, rest of Finland is even more beautiful indeed, especially Lapland
I spot almost everyday traffic coming from these ferries and Åland is pretty rareish even here, despite Helsinki being only 35 KM away from where i spot on usually. Best bet to get them is to go to Turku.
