This layout is not similar to any Swedish plate.
Could it have been exported from Italy?

Italian AA000AA registrations started in 1994, and by 2002-2003 they were on BA000AA and CA000AA, so this Saab likely returned to its homeland of Sweden before going onto Norway. AA000AA registrations in France didn't start until 2009 and this would have likely been on FNI (000FNI75) plates if it was French. Italian/Spanish cars are pretty desirable in Sweden, from what I've heard, because of their lack of rust, and plenty of Volvos and Saabs return up north from Italy or Spain each year. France isn't as common and I've noticed more cars are imported to France than exported

I did a further investigation of this car and checked some Swedish registration net sites. Not much to see, but this picture popped up by writing the car's VIN in the search field. Not much technical info to see, but there is no doubt the car has been in Sweden before bein imported to Norway. In the net address can be seen what appears to be the Swedish plate: https://www.car.info/en-se/license-plate/S/BGN763/?s=YS3FF79SX46000380#specs, and it is BGN763. However, this is re-used on a Brenderup trailer first time registered in 1981. As 2 vehicles cannot have the same plate combination, I think the trailer must have had a new plate some time earlier, perhaps due to the old fell off or something.

Så vi vet at bilen opprinnelig ble levert i Italia (men vi vet ikke nøyaktig hvor i Italia), og vi har den gamle italienske registreringen, men av en eller annen grunn er tiden i Sverige omhyllet av mystikk. Kanskje tilhengeren fikk en erstatningsplate og SAAB ble utstedt BGN763 da den ble importert fra Italia. Men, som beskrivelsen din sier, ble bilen importert fra Sverige med skilter CN111BS, som var dens originale italienske skilter. Kanskje den var på midlertidige svenske skilter, og ble solgt med sine originale italienske for å kanskje vise at bilen kom fra solfylte Italia og ikke kalde Sverige.

Det er jo alltids en mulighet for å undersøke dette videre med svenske trafikkmyndigheter, men så viktig er ikke dette for meg...
