What I'm looking for, BimmerDude, is consistency. I'm trying to be consistent with my spots.
If it's a station wagon and the station wagon is marketed as a Fielder it goes in the Corolla Fielder box.
If it's a hatchback and it's marketed as the Auris it goes in the Auris box.

Did you write that as a reply to an edit I made...? You should PM me, I don't get notified of these comments unless you click "Reply" on a comment I've already posted.

Anyway this is not a Fielder. In NZ this is marketed just as the Corolla. Here, I will pull up an example for you from the NZ Toyota dealer's own used car catalog:

https://www.toyota.co.nz/used-vehicles/Detail/2372128

This is a Corolla Fielder. It's a second-hand vehicle imported from Japan. You can notice it's Japanese spec, since it has the different badge on the front, not a Toyota badge. They have listed this as a Toyota Corolla Fielder.

This is a Corolla. Not a Fielder. It was sold brand new in NZ. You can notice it has the Toyota badge on the front, and the official Toyota dealer themselves have listed this as a Toyota Corolla, no "Fielder" in sight.

If you think I am out here just to ruin you experience, I'm not. I'm trying to keep consistency just as you are, and hopefully teach somebody something neat about cars...

And, like I said, badging can be taken off.

Badging can be taken off and modified so it's not a reliable indicator.

You have Carjam.co.nz and I have been using it while checking every single one of these on Platesmania before editing them to confirm if they are a Japanese import or NZ new. And that's all that's needed to confirm whether it's a Corolla Fielder or just Corolla.

There are some spec visual differences as well, but the Carjam method is the foolproof one...

Carjam isn't foolproof, My mum's new car was listed incorrectly on Carjam for example

Again, please click "Reply" on one of my comments (the little arrow) so that I can be notified of your reply.

Then if everything is so incredibly uncertain why can't you accept that it might be something different and not a Fielder? I have a Honda Civic, which is called a Honda Civic Ferio in Japan, but I don't go around tagging all the right-hand drive one as a Ferio in the gallery cause "the badges might be swapped" or "[x] isn't foolproof", I look at the car in the picture, look at the details, parts/badges it has and make an educated guess.

In this case I see a Toyota front badge, steelie wheels with hubcaps which seems to be typical for the NZ ones and a lack of Japanese "Shaken" stickers. Based on all of this, plus the information from Carjam no matter how "not foolproof" it is, I can make an educated guess that this is most likely an NZ Market "Corolla" and not a Japanese import "Corolla Fielder". So if there is so many factors that obviously skew towards it being a Corolla, why would I ever leave it as a Corolla Fielder?
