Not rare to New Zealand. Very popular. Back in 2005 - 2010 ish these were in dealership lots new imported. They were everywhere on the road mostly in the late 2000's - early 2010's. I haven't seen them lately now since like 2015 - 2020. It's hard seeing one on the road now. There's 81 of these on the road according to the NZTA registry
