Unfortunately not. Many of them ended on scrap yards in 2009, when scrap program started (But in CZ you can still find some). Only a few Škoda-s 100/110 are there in daily-use. Now you have problem to find daily-use Škoda 105/120. Overall, the number of old cars is very bad in Slovakia.

Oh yes, the scrap program. I think Skodafan took some heartwrenching scrapyard photos in 2009...

Here, mainly only VW Beetles are in daily use from about 1970. The most old cars disappeared in the first half of 2000s, because of the Suzuki factory, Swiss franc loans (a problem since 2009) and a planned law to scrap all 2-stroke cars.

I remember the 2 rounds of Slovakian scrappage scheme in 2009, it was a terrible destruction process of our automobile history. Unfortunately I somehow missed the opportunity to photograph all the cars waiting in long rows, but I clearly remember how beautiful Skoda 100s, 120s, Ladas and even a Tatra 613-3 were waiting for being destructed. The worst was when I later got some information which nice cars disappeared as well, for example there was a very nice white Skoda Rapid coupe in original condition, and its owner once appeared driving a red Thalia. The Rapid ended of course in the junkyard.

Few years ago I almost bought a Skoda 105 from an old man. He was the first owner of the 32 years old car. Less than 120.000 km in the clock, never crashed, no rust, only minor oil leaking from the engine. But when the inspection test expired, the old man scrapped it, saying: "If I can't give you a proper car son, I will give you nothing instead." :(

Here you have photo how it looked at normal parking lot before scrap program (photo taken in winter 2007). Škoda-s 120 were everywhere, so i didn't photograph them so much.... :wall: :wall: :wall:
