One of three/four personalised registrations which are used by the High Commission (Embassy) of Australia (The others being WA 1 for Western Australia, AUS 1 and previously BNE 1 for Brisbane, ADE 1 denotes Adelaide). Nice spot!  :thumbs up:

Ah, that makes sense. I knew that these shorter plates with the 'XXX 1' / '1 XXX' format were used by embassies, but couldn't find a country's code that matched this plate. Thanks for the info!  :)

No problem  :) I use this website here, which gives all the current and previous 'personalised' diplomatic registrations used in the United Kingdom. As far as i'm aware, only the UK use this system of personalised diplomatic plates, though these plates are generally issued to the ambassadors of each embassy/high commission.
