The new trailer plate series is "A1234567" (one letter + seven digits).
"C382853" is most likely a "show plate" with the end of the VIN of the trailer.

I've also seen a trailer with C+six digits once, and someone told me (here, I think) that it's likely an inventory number used instead of a plate.

Yes I'm pretty sure the "C" plate is the chassis number, I see loads of them all the time, it's just that I was uploading photos with the new trailer plates for the first time that day and just wasn't thinking when I added this photo - simple human error
