License plate of the United Kingdom, 1932 year system

I think I took this photo in 1996, when I was 8 years old!
It was using the family film camera, now I made the scan to add them to the digital world.
This and TA 2662 are probably my oldest photos I have taken with plates visible!

AFS = Auxiliary Fire Service

In 2018 this truck was for sale on Ebay with the following history:

"This vehicle was built in 1954 and registered in July 1955 as part of Home Office emergency planning against nuclear attack or major emergencies.

RYX26 formed part of the Mobile Fire Columns which were able to relay water from inaccessible places where normal fire appliances could not get to.

This unit carries 3 x R.F.D. Inflatable Rafts which would have carried a crew of two men and 3 x Coventry Climax Pumps each. One to propel the raft by means of a rear swivel mounted branch pipe and two in front to suck water up through the bottom of the raft to relay on land. To launch the rafts there is a crane mounted on the back which can be rotated to one side to launch the rafts from any side of the vehicle.

The vehicle is powered by a roots 6 cylinder petrol 4751 cc engine producing 109 b.h.p."
