Yes it's sold in the UK, but the Prius is also seemingly a common car to be imported from Japan, usually for use as private-hire taxis and stuff like Ubers. I guess they're cheaper to import maybe, or are better specced than the UK counterparts. The odd front plate surround is what drew my attention to these JP-spec Priuses, along with Japanese inspection stickers on the rear windows too.

Very cool, I had noticed you'd been uploading quite a few of these as of late and it drew my attention. Good eye on the plate brackets, that's often a giveaway here for LHD imports from Japan.

Yeah I thought I'd try and spot as many of these as possible during my visits to London. Japanese-imported Prius models have only become more common in London over the past few years, and they were distinguishable with their two-row Japanese-sized plates, but as you can see here, most now have opted for the standard 'Euro-sized' plates, probably to try and hide the fact they are imports. Also, I find patterns with registrations where certain prefixes are seemingly assigned to imported vehicles, for example London's 'LW', where most of the spots are imports.

Interesting, just took a look through the 'LW' gallery and was amazed at how many different imports there were. Pretty cool observation. I wish there was a tag (non-hashtag) for imported vehicles.
