You are technically correct. However, Renault dropped the 'Megane' name when it came to the facelift of the original Megane Scenic, due to the facelift model looking less like the Megane models of the same era. But for some reason, for the DVLA's purposes of registration, they continued with naming/registering these cars as the Megane Scenic until the Scenic II of 2003-2009, despite the fact that this 1999-2003 model was marketed as just the Scenic in the UK, as well as the rest of the world.

That's what exactly happened also in Hungary. Most of the facelifted Scenics are officially registered as Megane Scenic - just to make me (us) confused...
