It's been broken for about a month now annoyingly. There are plenty of plate-check websites for UK plates out there if you want to search plates, I tend to use CarTaxCheck.

To be honest, it is a little stupid getting a Prius from America, after all it's LHD and there's a lot of Priuses for sale out there!

Normally yes, however this one has been imported by US military personnel, working at the nearby RAF Menwith Hill base (co-run by both UK and US military surveillance). US military personnel stationed abroad generally can get their personal cars imported for free to wherever they're based at, hence why Harrogate and the surrounding areas have a lot of US-spec imports.
