Haha no doubt the inspiration for the GT86 Aero model came from their partnership with Subaru I remember one of these on the forecourt of the local Toyota dealership and I thought this might just the one to persuade me into considering one... but having driven an upgraded 300bhp supercharged 'normal' GT86 I was left uninspired and that's as far as my GT86 journey has taken me
It is a shame how the first generation came out to be honest; it could and should have been so much more. I have to say I much prefer the new generation, at least from a design standpoint! It's ashame they don't seem to see a demand here for the BRZ version though.. Also coming from my background of 90s cars, modern cars all seem to underwhelm me, purely from a weight standpoint, usually due to modern safety regulations.
Well my current daily driver (on/off with the Subaru depending on the day) is underwhelming in the power department too but it has character that a huge Clio can't even consider Once I fix the leaking sunroof in the Samara I will probably switch it into daily use for a bit, it's a lot quicker than the Maestro!
What is it with spotters down here having leaking sunroofs? There were a few months where I owned my Felicia and Octavia together, and I would almost always pick the Felicia. Sure it was much slower, but it was so much fun, the little engine was always so happy, and I always had a huge smile on my face after every drive. It always felt like the Felicia was so thankful I was keeping it on the road, that it tried its hardest everytime to be as fun as it could while it had the chance. I can see why there were such fabulous rally cars!
I just thought it's because I owned old crap cars Both the Samara and Cougar have leaking sunroofs (and have never been operable since I got them) - none of my other cars have a sunroof, so I should take a hint from this...!
I'm not sure the Maestro is thankful, it's just typically British The other old cars however do seem to find enjoyment from being let loose out in the wild, still alive and free
Both the Favorit and Felicia are on my "would own" list at some point, I can't see any reason why they wouldn't be fun to drive!
