FIAT Coupé

1st gen (175), 1994–2000

As of last Saturday, this is MY 'new to me' 1997 FIAT Coupe 20v in Speed Red! I am absolutely over the moon with my new purchase and I have loved driving it round for the past few days and surprising my mates and family with it! I have already covered around 140 miles in this car including its run back from Stockport where I picked it up, from a very familiar sounding garage to probably quite a few of you! This is because I bought this from High Peak Autos, owned by Matt who has his own YouTube channel for the business that I have been watching for years. Alongside my dad, I had been looking for a bit of a project/weekend car for the past month or so, having previously looked at a slightly too ropey '91 Audi Coupe 2.3 which didn't run great and had quite poor bodywork which turned me away. I am very glad I didn't end up buying that as I would have totally regretted my decision when I saw this Pininfarina-designed beauty pop up for sale for a very reasonable price just a few weeks later.

It is a FIAT Coupe registered on 18th February 1997 at Sunwin FIAT of Halifax, a dealer branch which I have found the postcode for (HX1 3XY) but on Google Maps, as early as 2009, the dealership had been a used car garage. It is coloured in Speed Red with a lovely black leather interior and is fitted with the 2.0 20v 5-cylinder non-turbo 145hp engine which makes a lovely basey noise and has only 73,000 miles.

I haven't yet given the car a name; Carlo had come to mind as that was the previous owner's name who was also Italian and had it since 2012, but because of the 808 on the number plate, quite a few people have said Bob, which personally I don't think is fitting :D

Anyway, you will be seeing a lot more of this car on here at some point, maybe not as much over the winter as it is being garaged, but come show season, I can't wait!!
