are such double-deckers still widespread in London and UK in general? how often they could be met on the streets? I see only 5 in the UK gallery so far, and it's pretty small amount.

They were withdrawn from general service in 2005. After this they continued on two heritage routes - 9 and 15 (seen in this pic and another one in the gallery). Route 9 was withdrawn this year so now they are only operating on route 15.
They are also still used for private events like weddings.
