Wow, this got a Q plate when it was registered here??!!
I've only ever seen classic Mustangs without proof of age get Q plates, never a modern one... Most interesting...

How can you tell that it was registered here rather than being transferred?

If it was registered here it shouldn't be on a 'Q' - it should be easy to age.

Front Q is for registered in the UK, Q in the middle is for temporary imports...

This car is registered on the DVLA database as a Ford (no model given), Date of first registration in the UK is 26th July 2013, and year of manufacture is shown as 2013, which it can't be since this shape of car was superseded in late 2012, meaning the information on the DVLA database is incomplete, and that they could only list it as built the year it was registered here, not the actual build date because there would have been insufficient data on whatever paperwork the new owners took to the DVLA to register it, hence why it got an "age unknown" plate.
It is taxed and MOT'd until the end of October 2015 so very definitely registered here :)

I've dealt with importing cars before, I've suffered the red tape of trying to get a Q plate removed even with evidence of a build date - it's not easy, so it is really important to bring all the information you can to prove the age of the car when registering it!! Luckily I had that for my own car when I brought it in :)
