Sounds like it's been scrapped, what a shame. MOT expired in January :(

That would be a shame. I hope it's just resting up somewhere waiting for it's current owner to need it again, but that is probably wishful thinking! I'm actually quite surprised it was still going, it was a good little car but had it's gremlins - mostly electrical! I wonder if it still had the Pipercross air kit fitted :D

Or maybe exported, alternatively.

If the vehicle still shows up here https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ then it wasn't scrapped in the UK. If a vehicle is scrapped and VIN is destroyed, then the licence plate gets put back in to circulation so shows as no longer registered to anything.

I think you're correct and this car has gone abroad on it's final voyage.
NOTE: This doesn't mean it wasn't bought by a scrapyard abroad for parts as obviously there is no way for the DVLA to know of a vehicle scrapped abroad.

It's a Peugeot. It left the factory with electrical faults.

Not quite correct.

If a vehicle is scrapped, and its registration isn't transferred prior to scrapping, then it can no longer be allocated to anything else – UK registrations are not perpetual.

Vehicles which have been scrapped still show up on the MOT checker.
