Older plate, according to .cc the lowest letter combo on this base is BBB so this plate is from the early to mid 2000s

2006 Hot Shot ! I used to live in Tennessee, I was there when this one came out !! Yes it's BBB, cuz 20/20 on ABC did a special about how Tennessee released such combinations as "FAT", "BUM", etc. on the previous edition !!

Ok prepare to be AMAZED...
I had the BicenTENNial Tennessee Plate in my collection... It was 209-BGL from Blount County...

Seems the letter blocks are assigned to different area like in Texas, AND Further, that they repeat themselves between different editions ! :ups:

It's possible, I think they do local letter blocks, but I've seen some differences between plate editions on the letters.

I'm gonna check... No not in Kentucky... They stay on the car in The Commonwealth !! :D
The plates were on it when I bought it, and they stayed on it... Until they expired and to avoid being towed at an apartment complex I put some FRESH Nebraska Plates on instead !

In South Carolina, some letter combos they try to issue in or around certain areas. Try AAA or ADG in Carfax and see what you get!

NOT MANY !

"the only states that seem to require that the (standard issue) plates stay with the vehicle upon transfer of ownership are Kentucky, Minnesota, California, and Alaska. Delaware allows plates to be retained on transfer for a fee"

It’s an app, look for MyCarFax or CarFax car care (It will show up under both) you can use the website but the app shows more info, don’t add more than 8 cars at a time because it will lock you out of your account (learned the hard way)

Yeah, that's it! I only do 4 at a time just to be on the safe side! I do both app and website!

AAA is mainly from Abbeville, and ADG seems to be mostly from Charleston.

That's odd, I'd expect at least a majority of plates with the same letter combos to be issued in the same county. For example, here in SC, you'll notice that you see certain combos often in certain areas, like UXK and UXJ are definitely local to Spartanburg County.

Well, there is a pic of an LLL 1989 base Hamilton county and my 248 LLL 2006 base is also Hamilton county, so maybe the Davison was just a fluke. Also, with exception to that one, the counties seemed to get the 2006 plates in alphabetical order Anderson got BBC BBD BBF and Carroll got BKT Carter got BLM but Shelby didn’t get anything until the F series. This time, it’s different because Lake county got BBB and 090 BBBB and Anderson didn’t get anything till BCP
