Any informations about BMW X5 belonging to the CSGT ? Rental cars ?
Pretty sure the police isn't that poor to the point that they have to rent a car. That BMW X5 belongs to the Traffic Police Department of Thái Nguyên Province. Other than that, there's no more information I could find about it.
turtle-bienhoa That's a shame. I'll be of age in 2026 though, and I'll be in uni too, so I'll try to ride to Hanoi then.
Well at least on the bright side we still have the parade at Mỹ Đình Studium on December 22. By 2026, flight tickets would have been cheaper than it is now so it's a good chance to go to Hanoi.
Still going to Hanoi by motorbike, it’d be the trip of my life. I’d be nearly 20, be in my prime; I’ll go up there to freshen myself. Of course I need to save up for fuel and stuff, but you get the idea…

Ah I see, that would definitely be a trip of a life. You would be able to experience most of Vietnamese culture and lifestyles, although it could be a bit difficult, but it would really worth your effort. Either way, I hope we could meet each other in 2 years, if possible. Also a little good news: With my persuasion skills and 6 million VND, I along with my dad is going to Gumball 3000 this September. We will fly there on the night of September 13, and go back to Hanoi on the night of September 15. Hope to meet you there.
turtle-bienhoa NICE! I’ll be on Lê Lợi Blvd between 7.30 and 10.30 a.m Sep 14th only. I can take the first day, you can take the next. Hope to see you then.
I will be there between 7 AM until 5PM for both days. I guess we will have a lot of double spots, see you soon.
turtle-bienhoa We can take both sides of the cars, and maybe some security vehicles too.
I agree with your plan. There would be 121 cars in the event, along with some supercars that were parked at the ceremony but doesn't attend the event. I have just also upgraded my SD card from 64 GB to 128 GB, so it should be good enough.
Can't wait to see your photos from this event and other vehicles you are going to spot there
No, they are from around the world. There will be Koenigseggs, Paganis, Bugattis and possibly every rarest cars you could imagine. This could be one of a lifetime event for us Vietnameses, since mostly big car events is organized in other countries instead of Vietnam. Thank you for your interest and stay tuned for our spots!
turtle-bienhoa I've just realized something: some jurisdictions don't require front plates. How do we reconcile this?
Hmm, that would definitely be a challenge. I guess we could take the rear of the car, if possible. If it parked in an unfavourable position, I guess we will have to wait until it moves to a favourable position.
So we have the official schedule for the event now: https://gumball3000.com/pages/saigon-2024 It seems like the cars would arrive there at around 10 AM, I will stay there until 5 PM on Saturday. On Sunday, I will stay there through the whole official flag drop ceremony. See you in a week!
