Marshall_lsl and other users such as A.F.Saxon and Alfa G have uploaded numerous photos that go against the site's rules of illegally doubling. The Chinese gallery is not exempt from these rules. Some of these photos were uploaded in 2024, but they went unnoticed at the time. However, I do not see why the photos should still get to remain on the site. If the users of this gallery are too immature and ignorant to understand that, then there is not much more I can do to help facilitate that understanding.

May I ask why there is only an image of Marshall_Isl in your example, without the other person you mentioned? Now his image has been the most "corrected" by you. But there is a question, why are all his photos from a year or even more being flipped out? So, I would like to see if you have corrected the photos of other users or users from other countries. Because I suspect you're targeting him, or maybe I'm being sentimental - you're a nationalist or a racist, specifically targeting Chinese photos?

The Chinese gallery went years without consistent moderator oversight.
It’s understandable that some users don’t know the rules, no one enforced them or explained them.

Now that a moderator is stepping in, it may feel disruptive.
But reviewing large numbers of images and checking them against site guidelines isn’t easy work.

As an old Chinese saying goes, "It is not scarcity but inequality that is the problem."The core reason for other users' dissatisfaction lies in the presence of selective enforcement, rather than whether the rules were actually broken. From what I've observed, the Russian section is filled with albums of luxury cars like the Cullinan containing numerous illegal double images. Additionally, a large number of images showing incomplete vehicles or lacking proper mosaics still remain. I believe that without fair and impartial handling, it will be difficult to maintain public trust.

Please, show examples of this, or report them, and they will be taken care of. Russian gallery is well moderated, so the doubles you saw might be legal after all (taken in different regions, or different colors)
As stated above, the Chinese gallery wasn't moderated properly for years. It's very unfortunate that several "illegal" doubles by the same user were left in the gallery for a long time, but after all, they're against the rules, so sooner or later they had to be deleted.

To Fa1rrhaven, please be careful of accusations of racism, especially in public, it is unacceptable and could result in a ban if it continues.

Well, I don't want to incite conflict; I simply want to clarify that the complaints from Chinese users aren't simply about rule violations, but rather the unfairness of being specifically targeted in Chinese galleries when the same rules are ignored in other galleries. 但是我不是要求Platesmania也能做的一样好，这毕竟是一个非营利性网站，但是起码全站所有地区的规则执行标准统一要做到吧？如果这都不能做到，那么也没有什么规则可言了。

You act as if you possess doublethink: selectively deleting images in albums from regions with fewer users, and then self-righteously offering a reason that appears to be “objective and fair,” while deliberately ignoring the same violations elsewhere as if you were blind. How do you explain this behavior?

What is both laughable and regrettable is that Platesmania—a website that has existed for decades—has such a vague, flawed management system full of loopholes. There are no unified standards or rules for selecting and promoting administrators, and enforcement and punishments for violations are applied in a show-it-fits-the-person manner.

Moreover, I am registered on many similar sites, such as AutoGespot, which have extremely strict standards and enforcement. If you upload a photo that breaks the rules, someone will immediately email you with a detailed explanation. Not like here, where a photo may be deleted suddenly after days, months, or even years with a flimsy excuse.

That said, I’m not demanding that Platesmania match those sites—after all, this is a non-profit website—but at the very least the enforcement standards across all regions of the site should be consistent. If that cannot be achieved, then there is no point in having rules at all.

I am not trying to claim discrimination (who are the real racists?), and I believe discrimination does not exist here. My demands and aspirations are the same as everyone who uploads photos in Platesmania’s China region: we want a fair environment and administrators who enforce rules impartially. The photos we take, regardless of quality, represent the effort and dedication of the photographers, so we hope administrators will treat these photos properly rather than arbitrarily delete them for reasons that do not apply in other regions, letting them disappear into the vast sea of the internet.

As per 478vegetal's comment, i recommend reading the basic rules, it will clear up a lot of confusion on the subject of doubles. More specific questions can always be DMed to a moderator. The rules are enforced the same way across the whole site, but moderators are people too and will sometimes miss obvious rule violations.

I think you guys are trying to make this a personal attack rather than looking at it from another perspective. While I understand how you feel, you have to understand that there is only a select number of moderators on the site. There aren't nearly enough of them to moderate every little thing in every single gallery. This a massive database consisting of millions of photos dating back to 2012. To say that it's all unfair is rather insensitive. The similar sites you're thinking about probably aren't as large as Platesmania. The user "aaropika" is commonly uploading to and moderating the US gallery. He's constantly working to clean up that gallery, and since he visited China, he's trying to help clean this gallery up, too. For you guys to essentially team up on him and accuse him of such heinous things is beyond messed up. Another thing: Users say that they want certain illegal photos taken down, yet they refuse to report them. How can the problem be fixed if nobody is aware of certain photos? If you want everything to be fair, you'll have to run through the millions of photos across the site and report every single one. I'm not sure you would have the time to do that, correct? Remember that the moderators are people, too. They have real-life jobs and can't spend all of their time moderating this site just because a group of people think the site is "unfair". This site has rules and everybody has to follow them, no need to take it as a personal attack. You guys are refusin

The problem is this is a complete fake—any three-year-old knows it's not real. Any Chinese person would laugh at this license plate. And you've even deleted more authentic Chinese fake plates before—the only difference is that one was in China, and this one isn't.

We don't have access to the Chinese database, are you sure it's not a former combination that is no longer registered? Because there are many 黑A plates uploaded, this one isn't any different from them.

Why should we provide evidence for a fake license plate that is obviously fake at first glance? It does not belong to any legal form of Chinese license plate, nor is it in any form provided by PM. PRC never got a so-called "remade plate", local vehicles driving overseas will still use their real plates used in China mainland. So these are all LAUGHING DECORATION. Unlike R.O.K. and Japan. You need to know those "remade plates" are all fake. Every Chinese saw these will laugh to death.

It began with the first person of the PM China region — qiu1995m — half of whose photos were stolen from various Chinese social media platforms. You never took any action against this; the occasional deletions only happened after many of us reported them repeatedly, and some moderators even got angry because of the excessive reports.

Now, you are finally going to rectify the photo albums, which is certainly a good thing. However, you turn a blind eye to these obvious violations, being blinded by trivialities and getting bogged down in trivial details, which has aroused public outrage. Now you even accuse us Chinese of being racist and nitpicky — this is simply one-sided and ridiculous.

Going back to the issue of moderators: why is management so difficult? I think it’s because there are too few moderators, and things become hard to understand when crossing national and cultural boundaries. It’s just like how you consider those license plates that are obviously fake to Chinese people at first glance as compliant.

Therefore, I believe the best solution is to promote a few Chinese moderators. Would the efficiency of letting Chinese people manage their own photo albums be lower than other methods? Chinese people know what their license plates look like, what their administrative divisions are, which photos are stolen, and which are non-compliant. How exactly am I supposed to do something about it if I don't have the power to do anything? Again, moderators miss reports all the time. You have to be patient sometimes, not everyone has the time to specifically focus on this gallery when you have much larger galleries with a surplus of errors. There are many photos I reported years ago that still haven't been taken off the site. They will likely remain for a good while longer, honestly. Moderators shouldn't get angry at that, unless you were continuously spamming the report system with the same image (which I highly doubt based on what you've told me).

I'm not sure what you want me to do about all this, I only have the power to change models. Which "obvious violations" have I supposedly missed, and what "trivial details" am I stuck on? I find it disrespectful that you completely took my words out of proportion. Not once did I say that you were racist and/or nitpicky. I'm simply looking at the issue from both sides. I suggest you actually read what I said and refrain from accusing me of saying something I never said. Because they're not necessarily fake lol, sometimes a plate can be stolen in an other country and the owner has to remake his plate in that country therefore it will be with the font and scheme of that said country, non standard isn't fake !

Other users have previously uploaded officially issued license plates (such as temporary plates or 2002-series plates) that are not allowed on the website, and those were also removed — even though they matched real vehicles. I hope you understand that the only criterion for upload approval is whether the license plate design complies with the required format, not simply whether it corresponds to an actual vehicle. Moreover, the plate in question is not officially produced and is, in theory, counterfeit.
Also, don’t assume you,an Australian,know better than the locals. A little humility will go a long way.

This is why I firmly believe that we should have a select few moderators for every gallery on the site, that way problems like this can be avoided. Even though, I do not have a lot of power, I try to stay out of foreign galleries because I am not familiar with their plates/cars. I hope some higher ups will consider my suggestion, and hopefully these issues will be very rare.

I see what you mean. Honestly, the only requirements on Platesmania are that the plate isn't handwritten, and it's on the car it belongs to (we thought this is true for the BMW). In some countries (for example, Germany) it's not possible to check plates online, so we accept anything that could realistically belong to that car.
These rules are valid for the entire site, and there is a good reason for them: many travellers keep their original plates inside the car to prevent theft, and display non-standard copies. People would not be happy if they spotted a rare country, but the photo would be deleted because it's "fake" even if it really belonged to that car.

If you still have questions about moderation, please send a private message to any of us. I hope we can clear up all misunderstandings, and soon we can have a Chinese member in the moderation team.

You can only upload supported plates onto the site. At the moment, only the current series of car plates, truck and bus plates, foreign citizen and enterprise plates, trailer plates, electric vehicle plates and motorcycle plates are supported for the Chinese gallery. As such, any other plates uploaded - e.g. temporary or 2002 series plates, will be deleted. You can post these plates in the forum, if they have respective threads.
