Thank you so much :) Cars are my life, when I was younger I had a good job. Now I do not have much money but I try to keep the cars! The longest I have owned is for 15 years in October! I have made people smile and even cry with joy with my cars, anyone who has passion for these cars is welcome to enjoy them, they are not hidden away :)

I am delighted with your choice of cars, your work in finding, restoring and maintaining them. Thank you very much for the opportunity to admire them.

Forgive my bad English, I am especially uncomfortable showing this to a native speaker, but I know very little English and therefore I used Google translator.

Thanks for your kind words! It is my dream one day to open a museum for everyone to enjoy many cars, but that is a long distance in the future! Until then I just try to make people happy :)
Please, do not apologise, I am so happy that you wrote to me in English :drink:  Спасибо!

Спасибо за добрые слова! Я мечтаю однажды открыть музей, где каждый сможет насладиться множеством автомобилей, но это далеко в будущем! А пока я просто стараюсь делать людей счастливыми.
Пожалуйста, не извиняйтесь, я так рада, что вы написали мне на английском. Спасибо!

I am sincerely glad to talk to you.

You are already on the way to your goal - in China there is a saying that can be translated into English like this: a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. And you have taken far more than one step. So I hope your dream will come true. I wish you success in its implementation, and thank you again for the beauty you have preserved and for your inspiring example. (I also dream of one day collecting a collection of cars and exhibiting it in a museum in the city where I have lived since childhood and of which I consider myself a citizen).

Thank you for your positivity! Perhaps in the future we can share some cars between our museums for people to see some cars from a different region of the world! I like this Chinese saying, I hope that we can both make this journey of a thousand miles to our goals :)

I was glad to share my optimism with you. ) I really hope for a possible exchange of part of the collection - unique and simply interesting Soviet and Russian cars, as well as car imported from the USA, Japan and various countries of the Pacific-Asian region, have been preserved in the Russian Far East. Collaboration between museums can be very productive. For example, I came up with the idea of an antique car rally from Khabarovsk to Great Britain, to your city, something like the Beijing-Paris rally.

I also hope that we both go these thousand miles! )))

By the way, I am sending you an interesting link - one of your compatriots has already visited our city as part of an international crew in an old car!

There are many Soviet and Russian cars I would love to see in my museum - some cars you will see every day in bad condition are rare show cars here - a VAZ 2107 can be found at a car show parked next to something very expensive! In my region I have seen only 1 Moskvitch at classic car events, always in perfect condition. Actually I want some of these cars for myself, I always wanted a VAZ Lada! But they are very expensive and rare here.

I want to drive from Great Britain to Khabarovsk in my Mustang when I have the time and money. But it might be a few years... I think a rally would be a great idea to welcome new friendships and international relationships! We can run the event every year if there is enough interest. Sometimes there are rallies about "cheap cars", something like this can be fun too!

It's great to see any car a long distance from home, but I especially respect people who can take an old classic car so far! Brave and exciting experience!

Yes, a large number of valuable old cars have survived in Russia. Many of their owners do not understand the historical value of their property and dispose of it. Therefore, placing such machines in a museum in the UK will be a real salvation for them. If you need assistance on my part in this matter, then I am ready to provide it to you.

I also really love the VAZ (Lada) and Moskvich models. Our family had a VAZ 2102 and IZH 2715 Moskvich. But the VAZ began to break down and it became economically unprofitable to operate it as an everyday car, and Moskvich did not meet the needs of the family very much - my dad was very fond of gardening, a larger truck was required. Leaving cars as family heirlooms was impossible due to the lack of garages for them. Selling these cars was very sad. Therefore, I want to start collecting my collection with these models.

I will be glad to meet you if you come to Khabarovsk. Russia is a very interesting country. Russians love holidays, they love guests, so I hope that the annual race will be of constant interest. In addition, there are many car collectors in the Far East and Siberia, not to mention Japan, so a bright event is just waiting to be organized. Yes, the contrast will be strong. )))

Yes, such people are real heroes. The Russians say about it this way - to live a real life. This means in translation - to live as you like, to live as the soul requires, to live surrendering to your essence, to live correctly, it is difficult to translate literally, forgive me. But those people who live like this are respected all over the world, no matter what language they speak.

I would love to visit Russia one day, and Khabarovsk is on my list of places I want to visit! A tourist visa is very difficult for me to obtain, but maybe for business it will be easier.

There are many Russian cars I would like to own, but one I really want is the GAZ-3110 Volga. I know this car is nothing special - I always see it as a taxi in movies, but it's unique here, I have never seen one in the UK! I would use this car every day I think - I always drive something unusual :)

It would be great to meet you one day! And it would be great to meet some of the car collectors on the rally! I already have routes planned for driving to all different countries in the world - it is my dream to drive around the world, so I often create new routes on my computer when I want to dream again :D

It's a great idea to travel around Russia! Russia is a very beautiful and interesting country. I am very pleased that an experienced traveler dreams of visiting our modest city. I hope you will like Russia in general and Khabarovsk in particular.

Getting a business visa is a good idea, but you need to actually do business in the Russian Federation. Russia is changing rapidly, and if earlier it was possible not to comply with the laws that were quite chaotic at that time, now it is necessary to strictly observe them. By the way, I know that in the USA it is much easier to get a student visa than a tourist visa. Maybe, for example, you can go to Russia to learn Russian and travel at the same time? I would recommend that you contact a professional visa consultant. There are such firms in Russia, probably there are also in Great Britain. And if you don't have such companies in your homeland, you can contact a Russian company. For my part, I am also ready to provide you with all the support you need. I visited several sites and realized that to travel to Russia, you need to wait until the end of the Covid-19 pandemic. But, as far as I know, during big sporting events, such as the Olympics or football championships, the borders of Russia are opened to foreigners. Perhaps you will be able to watch sporting events and at the same time watch what is interesting to you in Russia?

It is very nice that you love Russian cars. GAZ "Volga" is a very reliable car if you take care of it and if the mileage has not exceeded its resource. "Volgas" served in taxis, ambulances, were the cars of managers - and the requirements for cars of this level are very high. The production of Volga was completed a long time ago, which means that there will be no more of them. Consequently, the surviving copies will only become more valuable. For example, now it is very difficult to find a "Volga" -taxi, except in very small towns."Volga" was developed in one thousand nine hundred and sixties, so it will require you to leave on weekends, but it will serve faithfully on weekdays. )) An excellent choice!

I assessed the availability and cost of GAZ 3110 Volga cars. There are a lot of them on sale, cars with high mileage cost from thirty-five to one hundred thousand rubles (at the current exchange rate, this is from three hundred and fifty to a thousand pounds sterling). But I would not recommend buying such a car - my uncle had a GAZ 31029 Volga, bought with high mileage. He only drove it on weekends, and very often had to repair it. In addition, in Russia it is not a criminal offense to change the mileage counter or not to say the exact mileage of the car (Volga has five digits on the mileage counter, when the car travels over one hundred thousand kilometers - sixty-two thousand miles, the countdown starts over. And so with each new hundred thousand kilometers). Yes, there are services that allow you to check the real mileage of a car, but they do not give complete confidence. Cars with low mileage, perfectly suitable for the future museum, cost more - from two hundred thousand to four hundred thousand rubles (two to four thousand pounds). With low mileage (ten to twenty thousand kilometers - six to twelve thousand miles), in excellent condition and original details, they perfectly meet your goals. Of course, they must first be carefully examined with the help of an experienced auto mechanic and car collector - in order to check the quality and original condition of the car. I am sending you several links with advertisements for the sale of such machines, so that you can evaluate them in advance at least from a photograph. The advantage of buying such a car in Siberia or the Far East is that they do not sprinkle salt on our roads in winter, the car body is better preserved, buying a car in the West of the country - that, there is more choice. A Russian collector can give you advice based on experience, they are also registered on this forum.

Also, in Russia there are quite strict rules for the export of antique cars abroad - whether the GAZ 3110 "Volga" falls under these requirements, you need to clarify in advance with the company that draws up the package of documents for the export of such a car. I just looked at sites in Russian on this topic and saw a lot of proposals. Unfortunately, in Russia, after many years of communist rule, business ethics have been destroyed. Many firms can draw up documents for the export of the car incorrectly or in an illegal way, which can lead to really big problems. Therefore, the advice of an experienced collector is again needed.

I will be glad to meet you! I am convinced that this will not be your only meeting with people with similar interests - in my city there is a whole auto club of car collectors, there are also private collections, in Vladivostok there are several museums of vehicles and many collectors. As I understand, looking through the gallery of Siberian regions of Russia, old cars are also loved there. And taking into account the fact that before the pandemic there was a ferry from Vladivostok to South Korea and Japan, then, if you wish and have the opportunity, you can also get there. These are rich countries, in Japan, collecting vintage cars is very popular, and perhaps the people of South Korea are interested in it as well. I really hope that the idea of a rally of historical cars from Khabarovsk to Great Britain will become a reality!

I also really want to start traveling and also often look at the map, dreaming about it. All dreams, if they are serious and important, come true. And I really hope that you will make your dream come true.

I read my answer to you translated by Google translator. I am afraid that the car could not convey the speed of either English or Russian politeness. A familiar problem. I am uncomfortable for this, I hope that I will learn English enough to be able to literally convey my thought.

Cool plan! But you're not the only one who wants to do such roadtrip. I'm planning one too, from Spain to Japan, but not with my current Seat Leon. Instead I'll do it with a Dacia Logan, since it's my favourite car !;)
And also there is cannoutt, who told me that he also wanted to drive through many countries in Europe and Asia in his Yaris Verso (if he still owns it in a few years), specifically from Italy to Cambodia. But both trips might be several years too. So yeah, to sum up, good luck on your future trip from Great Britain to Khabarovsk! :drink:

Hey! That's really cool! I still miss the car, it was so effortless and comfortable - 12 hours driving in one hit to the middle of Germany, and I would have happily driven it further if I hadn't already reached my destination :D I still have a few nice photos of the car to upload from different places we went together, I just haven't had the time to sort the photos recently.

I'm pleased to hear it is still going strong and it will be loved :) What's the mileage looking like now?

Any road trip in any car is special. When I did my 3 month drive across America in the Mustang before shipping it back to the UK the memories and adventures we had would have been just as fun in Ford Focus. The Mustang just raised a few more people's interests along the way, and gave me a car to see the world with (one day!).. :) Thanks for the good luck, it will happen, it's just a matter of time! I will probably be in Spain with it before Khabarovsk as I am planning a "return roadtrip" somewhere else before, so keep your eyes open! (Got to get it fixed up first so don't look too hard :D )

Sitting on 53k miles now. Looking at the service history it’s been really well maintained so fingers crossed.

I think it also has the spires back box which my old one had - so it’ll sound even more aggressive.

I’ll add some photos as well. Did you have any issues with it at all?

Still low mileage! When it was with me it was looked after by Guy Salmon Jaguar main dealer, and it wanted for nothing, my last big spend was for front brake pads and discs from memory, but they took brilliant care of the car for me (my dad was a customer of theirs for over 15 years, when he passed away I bought this XFR and they put his account in my name, and they all talked about him fondly and missed him as he would often pop in to have a chat if he was passing by, so they really took good care of the car too).
When I (sadly) sold it, it was to a Jaguar specialist in Dorset so I'm sure the next owner was probably enthusiastic too!

I'm sure it will sound amazing, I always had the windows open as I wanted an exhaust system for the car, it spat flames and popped and coughed with the stock system so I can only image how good it sounds now! I did speak to a manager at SVR about developing an exhaust system similar to the F-Type R that sounds phenomenal, but he said it would be as a one-off for me so the price would be more than it's worth sadly.

I never had any issues with the car in terms of reliability, it started on the button every time, rain, snow, heatwave and drove just the same. I had a couple of minor warranty things sorted like the USB slot didn't work, which was all taken care of for me, but they were all things I could have not bothered about!

It would be great to see some current photos of it - just be aware this site has regional posting rules, as in, only 1 front and 1 back view per regional location. I'll be glad to message you in private to help with that if you want.

Oh and finally, not sure if I should show a future owner this :D but, here it is driving effortlessly to the electronic limiter on the German Autobahn one very early morning taking my friend to Dortmund. I covered a lot of distance in a short time with this car when it was on German trips :) I was never afraid to push the car but it ALWAYS was warmed up before driving, like all my cars!

Exige_240RI always wanted a VAZ Lada! But they are very expensive and rare here.

Sorry, I'm also a bit late, but if you really want to buy a Lada, you should try Hungary too :) The older models, like 2101, got a bit pricey, but you can get a 90s 2105/2107 in good enough condition for cheap, or even a Samara (though they seem a bit lower quality). I've heard Lithuania also has a nice supply.

Let me join your discussion about car enthusiasm! I'm currently driving '87 Lada 2105 that was exported to Germany back in the days and got back to Russia in 1994. Here in Russia Lada's that were exported to different countries are valued among their owners. I was very lucky to find one of these because most of them are now on junkyards or written off, and it's very hard to find one of these for sale and in a good condition, because everyone knows that it's a Lada and they are very much corroded :(
Most of my friends are saying: why are you buying them? (because it's my 4th lada) and I can't answer this question because I think each of these cars deserves to have a little bit of love, especially when spare parts are very cheap and you can find them cheaper on junkyards or special auto disassemblies!
